Blue Devils Sail Over Skippers

The grey clouds of the lake loomed overhead as Independence made its first punch at the Fairport Harding Skippers late in the first quarter, Friday night. After the first quarter ended, Independence picked up the slack and started playing Blue Devil football.

Independence only had 7 completions for 91 yards, which happens to be the lowest of the season thus far. However, Independence had 39 carries for 330 yards, which proved to be the difference maker in the game.

The 3-3 defense, which is one of the defenses that Fairport plays, has a hard time stopping the run. Independence took advantage of the Skippers' weakness, layering 495 yards of total offense on them, with 330 of those yards coming from runs.
